Urge your local political groups to support Freedom to Work!

Michigan Campaign For Liberty is working alongside Michigan Freedom to Work, with the goal of passing a Michigan Freedom to Work Act, to prohibit discrimination based on union affiliation and require no employee to pay dues to a union as a condition of employment.

Local parties and county commissions have taken up resolutions in support of Freedom to Work.  Urge yours to do the same!

Freedom to Work Sample Resolutions: Use these resolutions below as a template for passing resolutions at your local government, local party, etc.

Sample Local Resolution—this one was adopted by the Grand Traverse County Commission.
Sample Party Resolution—this one was adopted by the Washtenaw County GOP.

Petition: Support the Sane Property Tax Act!

As housing values in Michigan are dropping, government is doing everything it can to squeeze every last penny out of the populace.  As immoral as property taxes are, it is even more immoral for government to artificially inflate the value of property just to suck more out of homeowners.

This legislation forces the government to use the purchasing price of a home as the True Cash Value of the home. Currently when you purchase a home, tax assessors are resetting the taxable value to the State Equalized Value (SEV). The SEV is what the government considers 50% of the value of the home.

Petition: No National Popular Vote!

Big Government Democrats have teamed up with Big Government Republicans to try and convince us to destroy our own constitution.

The National Popular Vote is a scheme to do away with the Electoral College.

If National Popular Vote passes in Michigan, it would mean that Michigan's Electoral College representatives would cast their vote for whoever gets the most votes nationwide, and not for who Michiganders voted for.

Petition: Repeal the Michigan Business Tax!

Now that Republicans have control of Michigan's government, will they stand by their promises to roll back on government intrusion into our business and our lives?

Or was it just empty rhetoric?

HB 4047 is a perfect litmus test.  Consisting of just one sentence, the bill would repeal the Michigan Business Tax.

Support Transparency in Government

Transparency in government is a critical component of a free society.  Too often, government operates in the shadows.

HB 4116 moves us in the right direction.  Sponsored by Reps. Opsommer, Knollenberg, Rendon, Genetski, Rogers, Agema, Damrow, Johnson and Daley and referred to the Committee on Oversight, Reform, and Ethics, this legislation provides two benefits that increase accountability, transparency, and save Michigan taxpayers money.

Stop the Expansion of the Michigan Bank Bailouts!

The politicians in Lansing are moving to put taxpayers on an even bigger hook to the banks.

By putting tax dollar guarantees on loans, the state encourages reckless banking practices, and puts us on the hook for their mistakes!
